Harris: Dorothy May, September 28, 2019

Dorothy May Harris, age 83, of Airdrie, Alberta died September 28, 2019, with her family by her side.

Dorothy was one of three daughters and a son born to Louise and Gordon Olds who farmed south of Oyen and later retired to Oyen.

She married Benjamin Lee Harris in 1954.

Dorothy and Lee lived in Airdrie the past 34 years, enjoying their horseshoes and volunteering a lot of their time to the Calgary Horseshoe Club.

Both Lee and Dorothy loved music and dancing and probably never missed a single CalOyen Reunion in Calgary during the years they were held.

Dorothy was predeceased by her loving husband in 2017.

She is survived by two children: Gordon Harris (Roberta) of Airdrie, and Valerie Staples of Kelowna, BC, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Dorothy is also survived by her brother Bernie Olds (Jean) of Cereal, sisters Edith Olds of Calgary and Ethel Holfeld of Victoria, BC.

A private ceremony has taken place for Dorothy.
