OYEN LODGE REPORT: Residents enjoy the colourful Fall Tea
By Dianne Spath
Hello, everyone! The weather has still been very nice for us to enjoy. The leaves are starting to turn beautiful colours. It’s that time of year where the flower beds, gardens and yards are getting cleaned up and ready for the next season. It’s hard to believe September went so fast. Hopefully everyone has completed their harvest.
On Monday, Dianne was away, so there was no activities. Happy Birthday to Jean Olds and Keith Maclean on September 23rd.
Tuesday was the regular bus run downtown. Thank-you to Manfred Schroeder, with the Handibus, for keeping this service going for our Seniors. Tuesday morning was walking outdoors with residents. Tuesday afternoon, was a pub afternoon in the new gazebo. The residents raised their glasses to a “CHEERS” in memory of Morley Sarvis.
Wednesday morning was exercises and in the afternoon was shuffleboard games.
Thursday morning was card games, followed by some baking and decorating for the Fall Tea in the afternoon. The Tea was decorated with lots of fall colours and fall garden decor. Spice cake, pumpkin chocolate chip cookies, zucchini & carrot muffins and rhubarb cake, along with refreshments were served. The residents participated in dressing in fall colours. Mary Loose, Donna Hogan and Sheila Davidson won the door prizes.
Friday morning was exercises, followed by horse races. Silver was the best racer that day. Friday afternoon was bingo, and in the evening was music by the Jorgenson’s. Have a wonderful week everyone.
