Annual Kathy Allen Memorial attracts 22 teams

Submitted by Sharon Berg

With temperatures soaring into the 30s, the third annual Kathy Allen Memorial 3 Lady scramble was buzzing with excitement as 22 teams waited to tee off in the 18-hole best ball golf tournament in Oyen. The course was in amazing shape and our thanks goes out to Danny, Stacey and Cliff for doing a beautiful job maintaining our greens and fairways this season.

Cheers to Kathy.

Both rounds featured a “Hole in One Contest” sponsored by Kay & Doug Dingman. Jayden kept a watchful eye on hole #2 but no one won the $10,000 prize up for grabs. Chuck & Shaune ran a challenging putting contest throughout the day as well as Jared & Brett running the beanbag toss on hole #8 both rounds.

After the 18 holes of golf were completed scorecards were turned into Randy & Brad for final tallies and flighting. The ladies enjoyed a steak supper with all the fixings and dessert prepared by Lindsay and the inside staff. A big thank you goes out to the tournament organizers, ladies who helped set up, our registration volunteers, muffin bakers, our ticket sellers, and anyone else who helped make this day such a huge success.

Many beautiful prizes were donated by local businesses and individuals, which were awarded as hole prizes, put in bucket draws, or won on the “Pluck a tee” contest. Once again thank you to our golfers and we hope to see you back again next year.
