Oyen Lodge News: Cold Spell

By Sarah Heath

Hello everyone! I hope everybody kept warm during the cold spell; let’s pray that was the only one we see this winter! We are happy about the temperature change and can’t wait for warmer days.

This week at the lodge, we always start our Mondays with some morning exercises and have our typical Bingo Mondays. On Tuesday, a few of the residents came down, and we created giant snowflakes made just by folding and taping white paper together; they turned out great! While the big fluffy real snowflakes came down in the afternoon, we settled in the chapel and watched the movie ‘City Slickers’, a funny movie! On Wednesday, the residents attended a church service in the morning, and in the afternoon, we enjoyed a few rounds of shuffleboard! Thursday, we tried a new game called Trivial Pursuit. It was loads of fun, and we learned a few new things, too. Friday, it is off to the races as the residents enjoy our horse racing game, and we finish the day off with another game of bingo, of course, in the evenings, the residents get to sit and enjoy the lovely music by Ralph and Marvel. We had a great week, and we sure appreciate the warmer weather.

I hope everyone else has a super wonderful week!!
