BYEMOOR ENDIANG NEWS: Supper Meeting

By Les and Rosemary Stulberg

Four rural municipalities met at the Byemoor Community Hall on January 17 for a supper meeting to discuss business of mutual interest. The County of Starland, County of Stettler, County of Paintearth, and Special Areas participated. Because of its central location, Byemoor is always selected as the place to gather for the annual meeting. The Byemoor hall ladies served a delicious roast beef supper.

Byemoor School students received curling lessons from Eugene Nixon and Justin Jones at the curling rink last week as they prepare for upcoming curling competitions.

Congratulations to Randy and Kory Schofer on the early arrival of their daughter Teagan Sawyer Schofer on January 14 in Stettler. Teagan weighed four pounds 15 ounces and is welcomed by big brother Jaxson. Also, congratulations to the local grandparents, John and Carolin Schofer. Enjoy your new addition, Schofer family.

Some local curling fans took in the Canadian Open Grand Slam of Curling hosted in Red Deer from Jan. 16 – 21. It was a great opportunity to see the world’s top curlers up close.

The food donations collected at the Church of Endiang Christmas Carol Service were donated to the Stettler Food Bank, where they were gratefully accepted. There is an increased demand at the Food Bank due to the higher costs of food, rent and utilities these days.

Sympathy is extended to Kody and Chantal Tateson and their family on the passing of Chantel’s mother, Charmaine Block, on January 11 in Three Hills. Char was 48 years old. Our thoughts are with the Tateson family in their very sad time of loss. Kody and Chantal live on the Nill / Naf farm.

If you haven’t entered yet, be sure to enter your curling team in the Farmer’s Bonspiel at the Byemoor Curling Club’s annual ‘spiel coming up January 29 – February 3 in Byemoor. Phone your entries to Eugene Nixon at 403-742-9616 or Justin Jones at 403-741-6784.
