Willick: Leonard, Sept. 27, 2018
Leonard, age 79, lost his battle to cancer September 27, 2018, peacefully at St. Paul’s Hospital with his brother Rolly, sister Eileen and niece Margo by his side. He had many family visitors throughout his hospital stay.
Leonard was a very kind, generous and devout Christian man. After graduating, he worked in various jobs, then chose to go to Teacher’s College in Saskatoon. He taught in various rural schools where he was very well liked by his students. Leonard was a caregiver for his mother for 10 years. He volunteered for many things with the seniors. He enjoyed bowling and his team made it to Provincial Finals several years ago.
Leonard is lovingly remembered by his siblings Yvonne (Lawrence) Verreault, Eileen Mieklejohn, Rita Rodrique, Margaret (Ken) Lee, Rolland Willick and Robert Willick, as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents Herbert and Ange Emma Willick, brother Maurice Willick, brothers-in-law Jack Mieklejohn and George Rodrique, sister-in-law Marie Willick, great-nephew Robert Murray and great-niece Lindsay Wakefield.
The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10:30 a.m. October 2 at Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church in Saskatoon. The Rite of Committal took place at St. Joseph’s Catholic Parish Cemetery in Marcelin, Sask.
