Porochnavy: Albert Steve, January 11, 1939 - October 1, 2018
Albert Porochnavy was born in North Battleford, Saskatchewan January 11, 1939; he died in Sibbald October 1, 2018, after a lengthy battle with kidney failure.
His stubborn attitude kept him alive three years longer than the doctors expected as he was determined to keep Mary by his side. His battle over, he will finally reside beside his uncle Harry who was his hero and best friend.
Albert will be remembered by his wife of 56 years, Mary; children Wanda (Ken), Debbie (Bill), Barry (Lorelie), Susie (Matt), Garry (Laurel), Bonnie (Martin), Dean (Myrna), and Shirley (Mike); 20 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his father Steve; mother Annie; brother Andy; sister Amy; and newborn infant Albert.
Rest in peace Dad and Grandpa.
Funeral Service was held October 5 at the Sibbald Community Hall in Sibbald. A eulogy was given by Albert’s granddaughters Amanda, Rebecca and Amber.
Pallbearers were Jesse Robertson, Justin Robertson, Skylar Supernant, Zach Porochnavy, Dustin Davis, Austin Porochnavy, Devin Porochnavy, and Jordin Porochnavy. Honorary Pallbearers were Darin Porochnavy, Henry Peters, Tom Harkness, Joe Fiachuk, and Roger Bakowy.
Following the funeral service, family and friends were invited to a luncheon hosted by the Sibbald Community Club in the Community Hall.
