Sarvis: Geroge Edward Morley, Sept. 3, 1928 – Sept. 23, 2020

George Edward Morley Sarvis was born to Goldie and May Sarvis on September 3, 1928, in Medicine Hat, Alberta. He grew up on the family farm in Bindloss with his sisters Muriel and Edith.

Morley’s biggest dream was to get married, so on January 18, 2009, at the age of 80 years, he tied the knot with Elizabeth Goodman who came from Olds, Alberta. She remained with Morley on the farm till September of 2015, until she left to go back to Olds for health reasons.

Tragedy struck on September 11, 2017, when a fire came out of the Suffield Block and consumed his land and entire yard. With help from his neighbors he was able to get a room at the Oyen Lodge where he remained till the time of his death.

He loved the wide open spaces and had lived on the family farm for 89 years of his life. Moving to the Lodge was a huge change for him but he adapted quite well. Thank you to everyone who helped him through this transition and to the staff and Dr. Muller for his excellent care.

On September 23, 2020, Morley died after a brief illness.

He was predeceased by his parents and sisters.

Surviving him are numerous nieces and nephews.

Morley will be laid to rest at Empress Cemetery on Friday, October 2, 2020 at 3:00 p.m.

MacLean’s funeral Home of Oyen in care of arrangements.
