Nichols: Rose Elizabeth Josephine (Miller), April 18, 1933 – Sept. 14, 2020
Rose died peacefully surrounded by her loving children after a short but courageous battle with cancer.
Mom was a very kind and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved her family and friends most in life. There was nothing she loved more than to talk to her friends about what one of her grandchildren was doing or had accomplished. Mom referred to us all as flowers in her garden as she described us each as unique and different and bloomed in their own special way. Her flowers were her most prized possession.
She is lovingly remembered by her husband of 68 years Fred, her daughter Connie (Don) Fraser of Okotoks, AB, her son Lyle (Patti) of Lacombe, AB, her daughter Sherrie (Ray) Rude of Sedalia, AB, her daughter Laurel Murtha of Cochrane, AB, her 13 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, her brother Mark (Jean) Miller, her brother Vic Miller, her sister Cecile (Gerry) McCarthy, brother Julien (Corie) VanHauwaert and many nieces, nephews, family and dear friends.
She was predeceased by her brother Bob Miller, sister Clare Sturek, brother Ed Miller and son-in-law Gordon Murtha.
A Celebration of Mom’s life was held at the Oyen Legion Hall, Oyen, AB on September 20 and the burial was held at Cereal Cemetery on September 21, 2020.
Memorial tributes may be directed to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Oyen & District Health Care Foundation (Bed Fund), Box 150 Oyen, AB T0J 2J0 or a charity of the donor’s choice.
