Porochnavy: Mary Jane, Augusut 27, 1943 – June 14, 2019

Mary Jane Porochnavy was born in Robinhood, Sask. August 27, 1943. She died in Medicine Hat June 14, 2019, with her children by her side.

Mary’s outgoing attitude helped her to fit into her new home where she always helped others, teased everyone and pinched a lot of butts. The aides and nurses called her grandma and she loved it. Her positive attitude was a delight for them in the home. Mary’s ongoing and only request was to be with Bert. Her wish was granted, and she is where she wants to be.

Mary will be forever missed and remembered by her children: Wanda (Ken), Debbie (Bill), Barry (Lorelie), Susie (Matt), Garry (Laurel), Bonnie (Martin), Dean (Myrna), Shirley (Mike); 20 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Mary was predeceased by her husband Bert, son Albert, mother Margaret, father Fred, sisters Rose and Darlene and numerous in-laws.

A Service of Remembrance was held June 20 at 2:00 p.m. in the Sibbald Community Hall, Sibbald.

Memories of Grandma were given by grandchildren: Devin Porochnavy, Zack Porochnavy, Mackenzie Walker and Dustin Davis.

Honorary Pallbearers were all of Mary’s friends and family.

Following the service, everyone was invited to a luncheon hosted by Sibbald Community Club in the Community Hall.

Burial of Mary’s ashes took place June 21 in Lashburn, Sask. at 2:00 p.m. and in Junor, Sask. with Bert at a later time.
