Successful Farmers Market season comes to an end

SUBMITTED

What a way to end the market season than to join forces with FCSS to have their resource fair during the market!  We had so many guests! FCSS also hosted our luncheon table, which sold out!

We had a good market season, attracting some very dedicated vendors! We hope you did well and that it was worth your time. To the Oyen and surrounding communities, thank you so much for your support—we would not be able to continue without you!

I extend the hugest thank you to my dedicated volunteers: newbie Kathy Carroll, whom we adjusted very quickly; Heather White; Elaine Zeer; Don and Mindy Good; and Diana Walker. They have given of their Fridays all summer to keep the market running smoothly.

I would also like to mention the willingness of our two Hutterian colonies: the Prairie View Colony and the Acadia Colony to step up and help wherever needed.

We will host our Christmas market on November 23, 2024, at the Royal Canadian Legion from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm.  Many vendors have booked tables already! Please note that we will be giving precedence to vendors that attended our summer markets and those that make their products; this is according to our bylaws set out by the founding members of the market. Because we are an Alberta Government-approved Farmers market, 80% of our vendors need to make, bake, or grow their products over the season.

With a grateful heart, Delaine.
