SIBBALD NEWS: Melvin Schaefer moves from the farm after 86 years
By Wanda Molzan
Sympathy is extended to the families of Ted Mundt and Hans Mundt on the passing of their sister Margaret Sawatzky. She was 94 years old.
Good luck to the students from Sibbald who have started their secondary education. Jillian Mundt is at U of L taking Business. Abigail Mundt is at U of S taking Nursing. Olivia Mundt is at U of S doing General Studies. Danica Woods is at Medicine Hat College taking LPN and Cash Norris is at Vermilion College taking his Animal Science. Have a great year.
Marvin and Wanda went to Denton, Texas to attend a wedding. While there they attended a Blue Jays game in Arlington. They were glad the roof closes at the stadium and there is air conditioning as the temperature was between 100F and 104F.
Best wishes to Melvin Schaefer on his move to the Oyen Lodge after being on the farm for 86 years. Melvin has sold the last of the Schaefer farm. It has been a very different life for him at the lodge but one that he is enjoying especially when friends and neighbours come to visit. Catherine would like to extend a huge, heartfelt thanks to Susan and Morgan Senkiw, Jordan Duffield, Lee Switzer, Tony Bakowy, Ken Miller and April Hughes for the help with the big move. She would also like to thank Mel’s team of neighbours who have been there for him over the years: Shaune and Lee Switzer, Susan Senkiw, Jeff and Lane Woods, Tony and Val Bakowy, Ken and Joanne Miller and anyone else who has extended an act of kindness to him over the years. Your kindness and generosity has not gone unnoticed.
Best wishes to Jackie Munroe who has accepted a new job in Nova Scotia and is living in New Brunswick.
