OYEN LODGE: Celebrating Mother’s Day with wine & cheese

By Dianne Spath

Hello Everyone! It was awesome to get the moisture we did! Everything looks so green right now. Monday, we had exercises followed by scrabble games in the morning. In the afternoon, there was card Bingo and Piano by Taylor. On Tuesday, we had our regular Bus runs, played Phase Ten and did some organizing with puzzles. Tuesday was National Teacher Day, so thanks to all the teachers. Wednesday, there was no church. There were exercises in the morning and shuffleboard in the afternoon from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm. Wednesday was Nightshift Workers Day. It is nice to give credit to all those that do that shift! Thursday was ATB Banking and Horse Races in the morning. Bingo was in the afternoon, followed by music by Robbie Shields. Friday was exercises and crib in the morning. We celebrated Mother’s Day in the afternoon with a Wine and Cheese party. All had fun. I want to express many thanks to Bev Haag and Shirley Vanstone for all their help this week in picking out flowers and perennials. Also, thanks to Bev Haag and Sandy Lockhart for helping me prepare for the Mother’s Day Wine and Cheese. The Maintenance men again have been very busy sprucing up our front and back yards. Things are really looking good!

Congratulations to Sara and Struan Heath on the birth of a baby boy! Nixon Samuel Heath was born on May 8th. Have a great week, and Happy Mother's Day to all the moms.

We send our heart-felt sympathy to Catherine Holland on the passing of her husband, Dennis.
