Oyen Chamber of Commerce holds Annual General Meeting

By Joan Janzen

The Oyen & District Chamber of Commerce members conducted their annual general meeting on Thursday, January 27th at noon at Schindel Agencies, 114 Main Street in Oyen. The secretary of the Chamber, Lucille Hertz, gave an overview of the business discussed at the meeting.

The review of 2021 acknowledged that it had been a quiet year. The Chamber has taken on the sales of history books for local communities. They are available at Schindel Agencies.

The Chamber is offering ‘chamber bucks,’ which can be used like gift certificates at local Chamber member businesses. These are also available at Schindel Agencies.

As in past years, Chamber members continued to volunteer to deliver Meals on Wheels during the month of June 2021.

Congratulations were extended to the 2021 chamber scholarship recipients: Thane Hogan and Jaida Bouvier. The Chamber is encouraging applications for 2022.

As 2022 begins, the Chamber encourages all businesses to be involved. Business membership is $75.00, and individual membership is $40.00. The Chamber meets quarterly, and the agenda will include information on getting the chamber web page up and running.
