HAND HILLS GRAPEVINE NEWS: Three inches of heavy wet snow blankets Hand Hills

By Marilyn Vredegoor

Hello Hand Hills … we are white with snow! Last night (Thursday) we got three inches of heavy wet snow. Such a welcome sight. It was so heavy that it gathered on the satellite dish and causes the service to go out. Simple fix, just brush the heavy snow off and the hockey game was back on. Missed two Oilers goals!

The Vredegoor Family was dealt a heavy blown two weeks ago when Martin Vredegoor, 79,  was killed in a c train accident in Calgary. A Celebration of Life was held at Hand Hills Clubhouse on Dec 10th. Martin leaves to mourn is wife Norma, sister Maria and Agnes and brother Tony and their families. Rest In Peace Martin.

While you are gathering with your families this Christmas Season make plans for everyone to come to the Elmer School Reunion in July of 2024. Call it a Family Reunion!!More plans will be forth coming.

A big shout out to Karin Miller and her fabulous crew as they prepare for the Annual Christmas Dinner in Hanna on Christmas Day. What an amazing Christmas Spirit this group has. Help them out by donating or volunteering. It will make your Christmas. Thanks Karin. The late Charlie Fielding was always a part of this event and I know he is smiling down.

School Christmas Concerts, Turkey Dinners and carolling are all happening as we glide closer to Christmas. This will be my last column till the new year. Please send me news on how you and your spent the Christmas Holidays.
