Consort RCMP charge female with drug and weapon related offences
Consort, Alta. - On July 28, 2023, at 4 p.m., due to an ongoing drug investigation, Consort and Coronation RCMP conducted a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant on a residence in the Village of Consort. As a result of the search warrant, Consort RCMP have seized the following:
15,000 illegal cigarettes
198 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine
60 grams of suspected fentanyl
51 grams of suspected cocaine
10 grams of suspected heroin
3 grams of suspected crack cocaine
750 ml of suspected MDMA (Ecstasy)
126 grams of suspected LSD
31 grams of assorted prescribed pills
Canadian currency
A shotgun and assorted weapons
Consort RCMP have charged 44-year-old Melodie Joy Torraville, a resident of Consort, with the following:
Possession of a controlled substance (2 Counts)
Possession for the purpose of trafficking a controlled substance (5 Counts)
Possession of tobacco product without excise stamp
Possession of a prohibited weapon
Possession of a firearm without a license
Possession of prohibited device
Careless storage of a firearm
Fail to Comply with Release Order (22 Counts)
Melodie Joy Torraville was held for a Judicial Interim Release Hearing and she was remanded in to custody. She will be appearing at Alberta Court of Justice on Aug. 2, 2023.
