Consort RCMP charge female with drug and weapon related offences

Consort, Alta. - On July 28, 2023, at 4 p.m., due to an ongoing drug investigation, Consort and Coronation RCMP conducted a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant on a residence in the Village of Consort. As a result of the search warrant, Consort RCMP have seized the following:

  • 15,000 illegal cigarettes

  • 198 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine

  • 60 grams of suspected fentanyl

  • 51 grams of suspected cocaine

  • 10 grams of suspected heroin

  • 3 grams of suspected crack cocaine

  • 750 ml of suspected MDMA (Ecstasy)

  • 126 grams of suspected LSD

  • 31 grams of assorted prescribed pills

  • Canadian currency

  • A shotgun and assorted weapons

Consort RCMP have charged 44-year-old Melodie Joy Torraville, a resident of Consort, with the following:

  • Possession of a controlled substance (2 Counts)

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking a controlled substance (5 Counts)

  • Possession of tobacco product without excise stamp

  • Possession of a prohibited weapon

  • Possession of a firearm without a license

  • Possession of prohibited device

  • Careless storage of a firearm

  • Fail to Comply with Release Order (22 Counts)

Melodie Joy Torraville was held for a Judicial Interim Release Hearing and she was remanded in to custody. She will be appearing at Alberta Court of Justice on Aug. 2, 2023.
