Big Country Agricultural Society donates toward Holter Monitors
By Diana Walker
A Holter monitor is a device worn for 1 to 2 days that records the heart’s rhythm. It spots irregular heartbeats if a traditional electrocardiogram does not provide enough details about the heart’s condition. The Foundation purchased two monitors to help with the backlog of patients and to minimize the need to travel to have a monitor applied.
Oyen and District Health Care Foundation is grateful to Big Country Agricultural Society for the generous donation of $500, which helped pay for these monitors, which cost $4953.30.
The Foundation’s fall mailout is underway. Donations can be dropped off at the hospital's front office from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays, via e-transfer to oyenhealthfoundation@outlook.com, or mailed to Oyen & District Health Care Foundation, Box 1, Oyen, AB T0J 2J0.
