We’ve had some lovely spring weather this past week. Not quite as hot as last week. We even had a few spotty showers roll through town as well. We will take whatever moisture we can get!

There is a shower planned for Kim Mancell (Bride elect of Braeden Peers) on Saturday June 3rd at The Acadia Valley Community Hall from 2:00 p.m to 4:00 p.m.
The Acadia Valley Municipal Library is looking for a new manager. It will be 16 hours per week and the times are negotiable. Email resumes to kmbooker@netago.ca.
Alberta Elections is looking for two more people to work the election on May 29th. If you would like to spend the day with me working the election contact Janice Hoover at 1-403-820-2498 or you can apply online at elections.ab.ca.
The bouncy Castles and floor hockey equipment are set up in The Arena for drop in use. If you don’t know the code contact Yolanda for access. The Arena is also available for private bookings for $100 and that includes all 3 castles. Contact Yolanda to book. 1-403-664-0582.
The Rec. Club is looking for someone who would like to coach youth ball on Mondays & Wednesday’s. We pay $50 per session. Contact Yolanda Kuhn if you’re interested. 1-403-664-0582.
Elle Marie’s drumming classes have started. It’s every Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at The Community Hall. The cost is $10.
Last Saturday, The Community Club held their Spark-a-lista Fashion Show. This event was sold out. They had four clothing vendors along with multiple other vendors. Thank you to the organizers for putting on such a lovely event. Also thank you to everyone who attended. The proceeds were donated to Halo in Medicine Hat. Halo and The A.V. Fire Department are selling 50/50 tickets. You can purchase your tickets at The Store or from a firefighter.
The Warren Peers grade 4 to 6 class went on a field trip yesterday. They visited Super T’s Flight Academy in Medicine Hat as well as participated in a drumming circle.
On Wednesday May 17th, The Clay Cup will be at W.P.S. serving lunch for the staff and students. Feel free to pop by for a drink, and some fresh baking.
The Community Club along with Marie Cowan will be hosting a Sunset Gourmet Freezer Meal Workshop at The Community Hall on May 28th. This is a great opportunity to get your freezer stocked for the summer BBQ season. Best of all you don’t have to mess up your own kitchen! Contact, Marie Cowan for more information 1-403-664-8589.
The W.P.S is hosting a book launch on Monday May 29th from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the school gym. All community members are welcome to attend, and refreshments will be served.
Mark your calendars for July 1st as The Acadia Valley Rec. Club will be hosting their annual slow pitch tournament. There will be a huge inflatable obstacle course for the kids, beer gardens, dance, fireworks and more. Watch Facebook and The Oyen Echo for more details.
