Acadia Valley News, June 9, 2021

Reported by Yolanda Kuhn

Mother Nature filled my order for rain last week. We had two rain and hailstorms just a few days apart. Today’s storm brought around an inch of rain and hail in short order. Hopefully, the crops are young enough they can recover from the beating. We asked for rain; we just didn’t expect it to all come at once.

Stage 2 of reopening started today. The Acadia Valley Municipal Library hasn’t announced its changes yet. Call 403-972-3744 or watch their Facebook page for more information.

The Community Club is running a “Gift Card Survivor” fundraiser. The deadline to enter a team is June 15th. Contact Jena for more information 403-928-0021. Also, mark your calendars for December 31st, 2021; the club is planning an event in the new hall.

Congrats to Chris and Karilynn Tucker, who were married on June 5th in Buffalo. I don’t think anyone who attended that wedding will forget it!

Tony and Pat Didychuk spent several days in Calgary and area for Tony’s doctor appointments. As well, Pat was able to shop for a new outfit for the upcoming wedding.

Lorraine and Yolanda Kuhn travelled to Lethbridge for some medical appointments and had a pleasant visit with Gary and Bettyanne Bischoff.

Thanks for reading this week. I will leave you with a quote from John Heywood “Beggars should be no choosers.”
