This past week the weather has been much milder. It’s been melting during the day and still freezing at night. We had a little blast of blowing snow yesterday morning. I’m starting to notice the days getting longer… could Spring be just around the corner? According to Balzac Billy that’s the case. I guess time will tell.
Last Thursday a funeral was held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church for Donna Hoffmann. A luncheon followed at The Hall.
The Sunset Seniors Club held their January potluck meeting with 11 members in attendance. We passed a new hall rental agreement and Barry and Gwen Gustafson offered to look after the bookings. Thanks to Dennis Gieron for his years of looking after the rentals. Our kitchen is now fully renovated with some new cupboards and all new stainless steel appliances. It looks great! Thanks to Barry, Gwen, and their crew for all their hard work. Drop in continues on Wednesdays from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome to come for fellowship, cards, pool and tasty goodies!
Last weekend The Rec. Club hosted the annual Ladies Bonspiel. This years theme was “Be a star tonight”. We had 8 team’s curl. Tanya Niwa’s team won the curling. Patircia Loran’s team won the team basket. My team won the best dressed team and the stay and shop in Stettler package. Thank you to everyone who came out and curled and helped organize the event as well.
