Shipley: Thomas Lee, January 16, 1959 – April 13, 2019
Thomas Lee Shipley died suddenly April 13, 2019, at the age of 60.
Tom was born January 16, 1959, in Empress, Alberta to Keith and Verna Shipley. He was the first Shipley grandson.
In 1965-1966 he attended grade one in Mantario, Saskatchewan and had the privilege of having his grandmother Bessie Shipley as his teacher. Tom went to the Eatonia School for the remainder of his schooling.
He attended Olds College for mechanics. Then, in 1978, Tom started farming but he had a desire to go back to school again and attended Valmont College.
Tom moved to Dunblane, Saskatchewan in 2008.
Some of Tom’s favourite times were spent visiting with family and friends, watching sports and attending rodeo events. Tom also enjoyed attending auction sales, finding lots of treasures.
Tom’s loved ones will miss his sense of humour and outgoing personality.
Tom is survived by his mother Verna Shipley; brothers Don (Tammie), Neal, and Bill; sister Corrinne (Rodney) Schmidt; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, and cousins.
He was predeceased by his father Donald Keith Shipley (2001); grandparents Lee (1968) and Bessie (1966) Shipley and Tom (1996) and Freda (1994) Hern.

Funeral Service was held April 19 at the Mantario Lions Hall, Eyre Park in Mantario, Saskatchewan. Officiating Clergy was Rev. Helen Reed. Aileen Ehnisz was the organist and special music was provided by Larry Bischoff. A tribute was given by Helen Reed. Honorary pallbearers were all of Thomas’ family and many friends who cared for and shared in his life.
Following the funeral service, family and friends were invited to a luncheon hosted by Cathy and Clayton Cocks in the hall.
