Qually: Clifford Stanley, June 15, 1947- November 25, 2019
Clifford was born June 15, 1947, in New Westminster, British Columbia to Stanley and Olga (Maile) Qually.
Stanley, Olga, Judith and Clifford moved to the Oyen, Alberta homestead in 1954. In the summer of 1963, while returning with family friends from a fishing trip, Cliff was involved in a very serious car accident. He broke his back which became a lifelong problem for him.
Beginning in 1965, Cliff attended three years at the University of Alberta in Mining Engineering and was placed 54th out of 270 in his final year. He worked in Flin Flon, Manitoba and area as a mining engineer for seven years and absolutely loved it. In 1974, he returned to the family farm because his father was sick.
August 22, 1975, he married Leisa (Chapman) and had three children: Stacie (1977), Jason (1979) and Justin (1985). His passions were farming, hunting, fishing, and welding. In the winter of 1991, Cliff decided to sell the farm because his back pain was too great. He then decided to buy, rent and renovate houses in Cereal, Acadia Valley, Oyen and Burstall. In 1993, he sold most of the houses and moved to Burstall, Saskatchewan where he invested in the stock market for a living. There he enjoyed welding, building and gardening. Throughout his life he made numerous close friendships and treasured each one dearly.
In February of 2019, a tumour was found in his bile duct and cancer quickly spread to his pancreas and his liver.
