HOMAN - Lorne Miles Homan July 28, 1969 to November 1, 2021
Lorne Miles Homan was born on July 28, 1969 in Consort, Alberta, the sixth child and second son of Don & Ivy Homan.
Lorne passed away suddenly on November 1, 2021.
After many years of searching, Lorne finally found the love of his life, Mirasol, in 2011. They married on March 28, 2012, and Lorne brought Mira home to Canada from the Philippines.
Lorne had a special bond with Mira’s son, Yanyan, and he considered Yanyan as his own son.
Lorne supported Mira in every way, including her quest to continue her education. Mira’s family adopted him into their family and they referred to him fondly as Uncle Lorne.
Lorne worked at a variety of jobs, including petroleum displacement engineer, cook, bartender, oil well worker, and heavy equipment operator.
Lorne loved to cook but said he was a horrible baker. He was always looking for new recipes and changing ingredients to make them his own.
Lorne loved diving, fishing and hunting and looked forward to retiring on a beach with Mira. He also loved listening and dancing to classic rock and roll and western music and watching good movies. Lorne loved being around children and entertaining them with jokes, stories and games.
Lorne and Mira lived in Cereal and Oyen, Alberta until his passing.
Lorne was predeceased by his brother, Leslie, brother-in-laws, Mike and Odean, and father-in-law, Alfredo.
Lorne is survived by, and will be forever missed by his wife, Mira, their son, Yanyan, daughter-in-law, Mitch, grandson, Janus, Lorne’s parents, Don & Ivy, his sisters, Georgia (Ray), Debbie (Jerry), Barb and Connie, sister-in-law, Jenny, mother-in-law, Dayling, sisters-in-law, Elvira (Lito), Mirafe (Edgar), Fida (Edward) and Baing (Melben), brothers-in-law, El (Enday) and Rodel (Alot), and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass was held on Friday November 12, 2021 at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Oyen, AB.
