Keith Mitchell

1959 - 2021

Keith Stewart Mitchell, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at the age of 62 years, following a brief battle with cancer.

Keith is survived by his two daughters, Bethany Mitchell (Casey Sims) and Alexandra (Allie) Mitchell. He is also survived by his parents George ‘Stu’ and Doris Mitchell; brothers Jim (Lu) Mitchell and Jeff (Patty) Mitchell; nieces and nephews Lindsay, Remi, Amanda and Tyler Mitchell.

He was predeceased by a niece, Paige Mitchell.

Keith was born January 26, 1959 in Regina, Saskatchewan and raised in Francis, Saskatchewan. Growing up, he was active in 4-H and curling. He continued to support 4-H throughout the years and although he had not actively curled for some time, he frequently recalled that while living in Abbotsford, British Columbia, he had the opportunity to play in the 2000 Pacific International Cup, coming in second to the Salmon Arm, British Columbia team.

Keith’s passion for agriculture was evident in his forty plus year career in farm equipment. He operated his own business, Mitchell’s Farm Supply, first in Weyburn, Saskatchewan before relocating the business to Francis, Saskatchewan. He spent the last nineteen years of his career with Rocky Mountain Equipment in Oyen as the parts manager. In early 2021, Keith had to step away when he was diagnosed with cancer. Although this was an extremely difficult time for him, he made the decision to move to Taber to be close to two of his favourite people, his girls. During this time he took every available opportunity to spend not only time together with both his girls, but quality time one on one, building amazing memories they will cherish always.

Keith will be laid to rest in Francis, Saskatchewan at a later date. Condolences may be forwarded by visiting our website at www.southlandfuneral.com.

In keeping with his beliefs, he asked that in lieu of “thoughts and prayers”, everyone could honour his memory by spending QUALITY time with family and friends. This is what meant the most to him in his final months and days.

If friends so desire, memorial tribute’s in Keith’s name may be made directly to support your local 4-H club, a curling club or an agricultural scholarship.

Arrangements in care of Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber, Alberta T1G 1R8. Telephone: 1-888-223-0116.
