Kay Neilson

Katherine (Kay) Neilson

June 20, 1927 - September 5, 2021

Katherine (Kay) Neilson was born near Mendham, Saskatchewan on June 20, 1927 and passed away on September 5, 2021 at the Medicine Hat Hospital.

She was the second youngest in a farming family of ten chidren. In her late teens, she came to Acadia Valley from Mendham to help her little sister Tillie Hubele. It was then she met Chester whom she married in 1947. They settled on the Neilson farm and raised three children.

Kay was well known for keeping a charming home and a beautiful garden and cooking fabulous meals. She entertained family and friends often. In later years, Chester and Kay with their friends Anker and Inga Andersen spent many winters in Arizona. There she took up tennis and loved it.

Kay is survived by her children Brenda, Randy (Sharon) and Cal; her grandchildren Beth (Daniel), Phil (Erin), Cassie (Todd), Kate (Wes) and Calyn Katie plus nine great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at Acadia Valley on September 18, 2021 at 1:00 p.m.
