SALKELD - Jessie Mary Salkeld (Macdonald) beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, Aunt and friend passed away on May 22,2021 in Ladysmith BC at the age of 96.

Jessie was born on Oct 31 ,1924 in Georgetown PEI and grew up on a farm in Chipperfield Saskatchewan

She was predeceased by her son Devery and her siblings Don, Bruce and Edith.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Robert (Bob) of 73 years, her daughters Kay (Mike) Ramsey, Linda (Ron) Tucker and daughter-in-law Lorie Salkeld, her grandchildren Aaron (Hifumi) Ramsey, Shona Creighton, Devin (Darcie) Ramsey, Matt (Heather) Salkeld, Drayton (Leila) Salkeld and Jessa (Ian) Peers and 11 great grandchildren.

Jessie was a teacher for many years and taught her family and pupils by using her life long sense of curiosity and knowledge. She always enjoyed a challenge and liked learning new things.

Jessie and Bob lived in Brock Saskatchewan where they farmed and raised their family. They farmed for more than 50 years until they retired to Vancouver Island in 2015.

Jessie and Bob traveled to many places both on the continent and abroad and They spent years as snowbirds wintering in Yuma Arizona where they made many lifelong friends.

Jessie was a happy woman who radiated joy, always had a smile and brightened the world around her.

She was forever imparting wisdom with her turn of phrase and this quote of wise words that she shared echoes her own gift of endless conversation.

“As long as you have a tongue in your mouth You”ll never be lost”

The warm memories she inspired will forever live on in our minds and her love in our hearts.
