Sandra Violet Hiller (Sandy) died on the morning of May 27, 2020, at the age of 74.

Sandy was born April 19, 1946, in Westlock, Alberta to Sam and Ethel Alberts. She grew up in Fawcett, Alberta with her parents along with her three sisters Shirley, Dolly and Marlene. On April 24, 1965, Sandy married Edwin Hiller.

Sandy being of free mind and spirit, always loved nature, arts and hobbies. She will be remembered as a generous soul with a house open to everyone.

She has always been full of energy, rarely sitting still, and keeping busy with hobby farming, camping and fishing when she was young, managing campgrounds, woodwork and crafts in her mid-years, and gardening/homemaker in her later years. Together, Sandy and Ed always said, “Home was wherever they hung up there hats.”

They enjoyed living in various communities throughout British Columbia in the later years in Southern Alberta. Together they always chose smaller communities that are close to nature and the outdoors.

Later in life, Sandy became deeply passionate about travelling. Together Sandy and Ed saw much of North America ranging from a trip to Canada’s East Coast and various other trips throughout the United States, Mexico and even Costa Rico and the Panama Canal.

Sandy leaves behind her sister Marlene, husband Ed, children Darren, Darrel, and Tanya as well as her eight grandchildren.

Sandy’s wishes were not to have a funeral, only to be remembered for her spirit and love. The family and everyone close to Sandy knows that the last several years have been extremely difficult battling health and illness. Our thoughts and prayers are with you knowing that you are finally at peace in a better place.
