Grenon: Pauline, May 24, 1944 - November 18, 2018

Pauline Christina Hauck Grenon, 74, died peacefully at Hospice Simcoe in Barrie, Ontario after suffering a brain aneurysm.

Raised in Oyen, Alberta, Pauline was the oldest child born to Frank and Bertha, sister to Dwight, Eugene, Ann-Marie, Angie and Ronnie.

She is survived by her two children, Jeff and Michelle, and two grandchildren, Lily and Orla.

She started her career as a chartered accountant for various companies, including the oil and gas sector. She eventually became a real-estate agent in Calgary, a career that would take her out east to Barrie. There, she co-owned a real estate business, and later, sold homes for some of Ontario’s most prolific builders.

She was a devout Catholic and practised what she preached, directing her own lengthy struggle with Parkinson’s disease to provide support and caring for the sick and dying. Her compassion, resilience and generosity were among her many qualities.

Pauline loved to cook, garden, practice Tai-Chi, golf, curl, listen to music and win at cards – especially against her grandchildren.

Pauline was a country girl who moved to the big city but never forgot her small-town roots. Although a world traveller, she often remarked that her heart belonged to the golden prairies and endless blue sky of Alberta.

A funeral service was held at St. Mary’s Church November 22, 201 at 10:00 a.m. in Barrie, Ontario followed by a lunch/reception at the church.

She Pauline will be buried in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Barrie.

Memorial donations may be made to Parkinson Canada.
