Brumwell: Richard Lloyd, Jan. 9, 1946 – Nov. 7, 2020
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Robert Lloyd Brumwell, known to all as “Bert”, at the age of 74.
Bert was born in Kindersly, Sask. to Ruth and Allan Brumwell and was raised on the family farm west of Loverna, Sask. He attended Vermilion Agricultural College.
Bert loved four things in life: his cows, his family, trapshooting and sports. The only time he left the farm in the early days was to attend his son’s hockey games, after 1985 he added gun clubs to the list of acceptable destinations.
Bert was predeceased by his parents Allan and Ruth, his mother-in-law Robina (Granny), sister Doreen, brother Alex, and son-in-law Ekke.
He leaves behind his loving wife Heather, his six children, Andrea (Wes), Jen (Garett), Rob, Jaycee (Kent), Kylee (Jim), McKenzie and the family dog Tonka. His four grandchildren: Jordan (Kennedy), Madis, Caylin and Ryker. He will also be missed by his nieces, nephews as well as many extended family members and friends. His loss will be felt widely throughout his trapshooting family with whom he loved to spend as much time as possible.
Due to COVID restrictions a private family funeral will be held at Loverna, Saskatchewan on Friday, November 13, 2020, with interment to follow at the Loverna Cemetery. A memorial shoot will be scheduled at a later date.
We would like to thank Dr. Muller and everyone at the Oyen hospital, as well as the Medicine Hat ICU team. We are grateful for the amazing care Bert received.
