Letter to the Editor: Fighting Wars

Canada was able to finance the fighting of 2 World Wars, and I’m just wondering why we can’t fight a war on poverty the same way. This war would seem to be more important to a lot of people, and I’m sure it could be won with a lot less loss of life too. We definitely need some politicians with a little more brain power than we’ve had lately. It would seem to me that we should have a lot more money available now than we had then. NATO partners seem to want us to spend a lot more money to be ready for some kind of future war. I think spending it on a “War on Poverty” would make more sense.
