Greetings from the Oyen Crossroads Museum

We are excited to say that if everything goes as planned for Stage 2 of the COVID rules, we will be able to open for tours on June 14 and have our escape room ready by June 21. We will be open Tuesday to Saturday, from 9:30 am-12:00 pm and 12:30 pm-5:00 pm. As usual, it will be a 5$ fee per person for the escape room. Masks are mandatory for tours and escape rooms. Also, Oyen history books prices have changed for Volume I. It will be free, and Volume 2 will be 10$ each.

Kaileigh and Owen Have been working hard to clean and tidy up the museum so everyone can enjoy the rich history and stories that lie here. Kaileigh has always loved the history that envelops Oyen and her family’s past. She is currently studying to becoming a teacher at the University of Calgary. As for Owen, he is studying to become an accountant at Lethbridge College. He loves to do archiving and accessioning for the items and photos that are generously donated to the museum. History, memories, and curiosity are all things that people enjoy about this museum. A great example of history in the museum is the classroom exhibit that is in Benton Hall. We have all been to school at some time in our lives. Everyone has experienced school or is going through it. Even though school has changed through the decades, the general focus has never changed. A school is a place of teaching and learning, so kids and adults can grow up and take on life from the old blackboards to the newer whiteboards or projects that we use today. School has always been a place to learn. We hope to see everyone soon.
