Deadline for nominations approaches for new Alberta Blue Cross® Community Wellbeing grant program

The deadline of June 30 is fast approaching for organizations and community groups to nominate outstanding volunteers for the new Alberta Blue Cross Community Wellbeing grant program.

Alberta Blue Cross is celebrating its 75th anniversary in 2023 by recognizing generous volunteers across Alberta through a new community wellbeing grant program.

Through the new program, Alberta Blue Cross will be recognizing 75 exceptional volunteers across the province with $1,000 awards each in recognition of their contributions to promoting community wellbeing—and awarding an additional $1,000 award to each of the 75 charitable or non-profit organizations with which they volunteer.

“Volunteers tirelessly dedicate their time to creating brighter, thriving communities—enriching our lives in countless ways. At Alberta Blue Cross, we believe in celebrating these extraordinary individuals who make a difference,” says Brian Geislinger, vice-president of Corporate Relations and Community Engagement with Alberta Blue Cross.

“As we celebrate our 75th anniversary and a legacy of giving back to our communities, we’re excited to recognize those who go the extra mile to make a positive difference in their local communities,” says Geislinger.

Ideal nominees are individuals actively engaged in volunteering with organizations that prioritize the physical, mental or social wellbeing of community members. This includes but is not limited to senior's associations, community groups, school councils, arts and culture organizations, agricultural societies, children's activity groups and amateur sports teams.
