Alberta RCMP Major Crimes investigate Brooks homicide

On July 23, 2023, at 5:20 p.m., Brooks RCMP responded to a report of an assault in an apartment complex located in Brooks. The victim was transported to hospital by EMS. Unfortunately, the 41-year-old male resident of Brooks succumbed to his injuries in hospital 3 days later.

RCMP Major Crime Unit has taken carriage of this investigation, with assistance from Brooks RCMP.

Brook RCMP investigate shooting at local bar

On Aug. 24, 2023, at approximately 1:09 a.m., Brooks RCMP responded to a 911 call of a disturbance at a local night club. RCMP attended and were told that a 45-year-old male, a Brooks resident, had been taken to the hospital with a gun shot wound. The male suffered significant injury and was flown to a Calgary hospital.

The investigation is in it’s early stages but information suggests this is an isolated incident and there is no risk to the public.
