Advent Bag Tradition at Assumption School

Over 20 years and running families throughout the school take home the Advent bag, light the Advent Candle, pray together, read the Christmas Story, sing a Christmas carol and pass along Christmas baking to the next Assumption family. The next morning at assembly the student opens up their Advent bag sharing their Christmas wishes and treats for the next family. The reason of this tradition that started so many years ago was to remind families to slow down, gather together as a family experiencing the JOY and PEACE that the Advent season can bring.
